Brisbane’s nineties inspired pop-rock group Babaganouj have announced they’ll be officially launching their latest single Hit Song in their hometown in late October.

The four-piece garnered serious radio attention in 2014 singles Too Late for Love and the hugely popular Bluff leading them to tour nationally twice and support several of Australia’s hottest bands.

So far this year Babaganouj released the super catchy single Can’t Stop in February, played in inaugural Palms invitational MATES Mini Festival, and were finalists for the Billy Thorpe scholarship at the QMusic awards.

Since being released a few weeks ago Hit Single has achieved plays on Triple J and was a highlight in the band’s BIGSOUND set.

During an interview with AAA Backstage during BIGSOUND lead guitarist and singer Charles Sale said the band’s sound and style has changed with every single they’ve released.

“Our single Can’t Stop was much poppier and our most recent single Hit Song is sort of more of a rock song…To be honest I don’t know what’s coming next, I think it’s kind of a bit of both.

“Together as a band we write more up beat pop songs cause we’re all very influenced by mainstream bangers, we love that shit!

So our songs are our expression of that, but I think that our other vibe is sort of either acoustic and down-tempo songs and kind of longer format rock,” said Sale.
